chestnut cake

Recipe for this chestnut cake is really, really simple. This delicious sweet can be made in only 30 minutes, but you will still get a really fantastic dessert. Taste of chestnut, chocolate and whipped cream together is fantastic!

Ingredients for biscuit:

6 yolks

150g sugar

150g ground walnuts

50g bread crumbs

6 egg whites


Mix egg whites until you get strong snow. When it is done put it away. Then mix yolks with sugar until you get a smooth mixture. Add ground walnuts and breadcrumbs and then add egg whites while mixing manually. Mix until you get  a fine mixture.

Pour it in a greased and floured baking pan. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius ( 352 degrees Fahrenheit) for 15 minutes.

Ingredients for chocolate dressing:

100g dark chocolate

3 tablespoons of sugar

3 tablespoons of water

100g butter

Brake the chocolate into smaller pieces. Put the chocolate pieces in a bowl and melt it on steam. When chocolate is melted, add butter and mix until it melts too. Then add water in which you previously mixed sugar. Mix until you get smooth mixture. So prepared dressing immediately pour over the  biscuit.

Ingredients for chestnut cream:

500g peeled cooked chestnuts

100g sugar

3 tablespoons of Rum

100g butter

1ooml of milk

Put the cooked and peeled chestnuts in the food processor along with the sugar and rum, then process until fairly smooth. Put the mixture of chestnuts, sugar and rum in a bowl and add butter and milk. Mix with electrical mixer for 2 minutes. Pour the mixture over the chocolate dressing which you previously poured over the biscuit.

Put whipped cream on the top and decorate as you wish.
