Crescents are tiny but delicious cookies in the shape of crescent. They are always regular item on the list of my favorite holiday cookies. Crescents are very simple to prepare and the longer they stay, they are becoming more delicious. Once you taste Crescents I’m sure you will enjoy in every bite.

Ingredients for biscuit:

150g of  butter

150g of sugar

150 g ground walnuts

70g of flour

1 teaspoon of baking powder

4 egg whites


Mix egg whites until you get a strong snow. Put it away. Mix butter with sugar for 2 minutes and then add flour, baking powder and ground walnuts. Finally add egg whites snow and mix manually until everything combines.

Pour it in a floured and greased baking pan and bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 10 minutes.

Crescents - before baking

It must be half baked when you pour yellow toping over it.

Ingredients for yellow topping:

4 egg yolks

150g icing sugar

1 tablespoon of vanilla extract


Mix yolks with sugar and vanilla extract until you get a smooth mixture. Pour it over the half baked biscuit and take it back in the oven for about 10 minutes.

Crescents - yellow cream

After 10 minutes take it from the oven and put it away to cool down.

Ingredients for cream:

100ml of milk

100g ground walnuts

100g of butter

100g oh sugar

50g chopped walnuts


Put the milk and sugar to boil. When it boils, take it from the heat and immediately add grounded walnuts and butter. Mix  manually until it is all combined.

Pour the cream over the biscuit and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Leave it overnight on cold place.

After they stayed overnight, cut the cookies with round cookie cutter in the shape of crescent.

Arrange cookies on a platter and serve with cup of coffee.
