Grandpa’s Mustaches Dessert is perfect for those who love old fashioned or traditional desserts. Crusty dough, walnuts, jam and chocolate make a perfect combination of flavors. Don’t worry, the the dessert is named Grandpa’s Mustaches because it looks like them 😉

|Flour||14 oz||400 g|
|Butter||5 oz||150 g|
|Sugar||3 oz||80 g|
|Yeast||1/4 oz||7 g|
|Milk||7 spoons||7 spoons|
Mix the yeast with milk and leave it on a warm place for about 15 minutes. Put flour and sugar in a bowl and add yeast with milk. Knead until you get a smooth dough and leave it to rest for about half an hour. Divide the dough into three equal parts and roll each part into a square with rolling pin. Spread jam on the sides but not in the middle (check the picture below) and roll the two sides. We used plum jam, but you can use what ever jam you like.

|Sugar||3.5 oz||100 g|
|Walnuts||5 oz||150 g|
Mix egg whites with mixer until you get a firm snow and then add sugar and walnuts and mix until they are evenly spread. Put the filling in the middle of the dough (like in the picture below) and bake in preheated oven on 356° Fahrenheit (180° Celsius) for about 15 minutes until it becomes golden yellow.
After you get it out of oven, you can sprinkle it with icing sugar or melt some chocolate and pour between the rolls, it’s up to you. It’s best that you leave the Grandpa’s Mustaches Dessert to rest for one day because it’s easier to cut it then without crumbling and it generally taste better when rested. Enjoy!
