This is very delicious strudel which you can serve for your family and friends in diferent occasions. It doesn’t demand a lot of time for preparation, actually it is very simple to prepare. The taste of this strudel with ham and cheese is delicious. Try it out, you can not go wrong with it!

Ingredients for dough:

6 coups (2dl) of flour

1 yeast

1 table spoon of salt

1 table spoon of sugar

50ml of oil

400ml of milk


Take the yeast and melt it in the 100ml of milk in which you previously added one table spoon of sugar. Put it away and leave the yeast to swell.

Meanwhile mix up flour and salt manually. Add swollen yeast, oil and 300ml of warm milk. Mix it for about 5 minutes with electrical mixer and than continue to knead the dough with your hands until it becomes a smooth paste. Put it away, cover with cloth and leave it for 30 minutes to double in size.

Ingredients for the filling:

3 yolks

150g butter

500g ham

500g swiss cheese (or similar)


Melt the butter and add it to the yolks. Mix until you get a smooth mixture. Cut the ham  into cubes and grate the cheese.

Divide the dough into four pieces.  Roll out each and every piece and brush it with a mixture of eggs and butter. Spread ham and cheese and roll the strudel. Put them into greased baking sheet, side by side, and brush with one beaten egg.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit).

When it is baked cut at slices and serve.
